Problems viewing PDF documents using the internal PDF viewer of Firefox 19 in Windows, Linux and MacOS

The internal PDF viewer in Firefox version 19 has significant deficiencies in how it displays various
PDF documents on the AMS website, including AMS publications. The bug has been logged with Mozilla
(Firefox) and they are evaluating the situation.

Until the problem is resolved, here are a few alternative suggestions for viewing PDF documents.

Using Adobe Reader Plugin inside Firefox
(requires latest version of Adobe Reader Plugin)

Tools > Options > Applications
Choose "Portable Document Format (PDF)" or "Adobe Acrobat Document"
From the pull-down menu on the right select "Use Adobe Reader (in Firefox)"

Using Adobe Reader Plugin outside of Firefox
(requires installed version of Adobe Reader)

Tools > Options > Applications
Choose "Portable Document Format (PDF)" or "Adobe Acrobat Document"
From the pull-down menu on the right select "Use Adobe Reader (default)"

Using Adobe Acrobat inside of Firefox
(requires installed version of Adobe Acrobat)

Tools > Options > Applications
Choose "Portable Document Format (PDF)" or "Adobe Acrobat Document"
From the pull-down menu on the right select "Use Adobe Acrobat (inFirefox)"

Using Adobe Acrobat outside of Firefox
(requires installed version of Adobe Acrobat)

Tools > Options > Applications
Choose "Portable Document Format (PDF)" or "Adobe Acrobat Document"
From the pull-down menu on the right select "Use Adobe Acrobat (default)"

These are some of the improvement you will see by using an alternative PDF viewer.
- Bookmarks will be available by default
- Fonts will render correctly
- Active links will be highlighted
- Editable form fields will display properly
