Bôcher Memorial Prize
The Bôcher Prize is awarded for a notable paper in analysis published during the preceding six years.
The first to be offered by the AMS, this prize was founded in memory of Professor Maxime Bôcher (pictured), who served as President of the AMS from 1909-1910. The original endowment was contributed by members of the Society.
Prize Details
The current prize amount is US$5,000, awarded every three years. To be eligible, papers must be either authored by an AMS member or published in a recognized North American journal.

Nomination Procedure
Nominations with supporting information should be submitted using the online form available here: www.ams.org/profession/prizes-awards/nominations. Include a short description of the work that is the basis of the nomination, including complete bibliographic citations. A brief curriculum vitae for the nominee should be included. Those who prefer to submit by postal mail may send nominations to the AMS Secretary, Carla Savage, Box 8206, Computer Science Department, North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC 27695-8206. The nominations will be forwarded by the Secretary to the prize selection committee, which will make the final decision on the awarding of the prize.
Most Recent Prize: 2011
The 2011 Bôcher Prize was awarded to Gunther Uhlmann for his fundamental work on inverse problems; and to Assaf Naor for introducing new invariants of metric spaces and for applying his new understanding of the distortion between various metric structures to theoretical computer science.
