## 2013 Subscription Information

MathSciNet is your premier service for searching over 70 years of the world's mathematical literature in the Mathematical Reviews (MR) Database.

MathSciNet contains over 2.8 million items and over 1.6 million links to original articles in more than 2000 journals from more than 250 publishers. Over 100,000 new items are added each year, most of them classified according to the Mathematics Subject Classification. Each year over 80,000 reviews are added, written by experts around the world. Reference lists are collected and matched internally from over 500 journals. Navigation is simple within MathSciNet's wealth of internal links. The MR Author Database enables searching by verified individuals, rather than name strings.

For pricing information, please see 2013 Subscription Rates:

A 30-day free trial of MathSciNet is available to institutions and corporations. Download the 30-day Free Trial Form or contact AMS Customer Services: cust-serv@ams.org For more information, send e-mail to consortia@ams.org.

## MathSciNet Consortia Pricing

The American Mathematical Society offers consortia pricing for MathSciNet—the premier source for searching the world's mathematical literature.

There are now over 120 consortia worldwide with more than 2,000 academic institutions that enjoy access to MathSciNet. These institutions include public and private colleges and universities, community colleges, satellite campuses, and corporations.

Program Goal:

• to establish MathSciNet pricing that is relative to a site's mathematical activity

Single Subscriber Rate Outside of a Consortium US$11,568 Consortium Member Rate US$296.13 - US\$10,383.50Price per participant is dependent upon prior MathSciNet subscription history, institutional membership status, and Mathematical Activity.

30-Day Free trial:
The AMS offers a 30-day free trial to corporations and academic institutions who are considering consortia arrangements. Download the 30-day Free Trial Form!

Access to MathSciNet for all subscribers is sitewide, via IP authentication, with no limits on simultaneous users or length of time connected to the database.

How MathSciNet Consortia Pricing is Calculated:
Consortia subscriptions to MathSciNet are composed of two parts: 1) the DAF, which is the cost of maintaining and enhancing the database, and 2) the MathSciNet (MSN) fee, which is the cost for the online delivery of the data.

The Consortium DAF is based on the number of previous subscribers to Mathematical Reviews (MR) in the consortium. The pricing helps stabilize the revenue base for the DAF, while still allowing new schools to gain access to the database at a reasonable cost.

MathSciNet consortia fees are calculated per site based on "Mathematical Activity" (MA). MA is derived from the database and is the number of authors and their papers reviewed and/or indexed in the database over the most recent three-year period originating from that institution.

Licensing:
The AMS requires a signed license agreement for MathSciNet and other electronic publications. The MathSciNet Consortium License Agreement may be downloaded by the host site or the main contact person for the Consortium to complete and return to the AMS.

The Exhibit A: Acknowledgment of Terms and Conditions may also be downloaded for each member of the consortium to complete and return to the AMS.

Assistance and Information:
The AMS is pleased to consider any consortia requests and will provide subscription price quotes for any group, even those composed of all new subscribers. We make every effort to help small institutions to either form new consortia or join an existing one.
