Summary of Committee Charge
The Committee is to take a long range view of and provide major direction for Society activities on issues of a broad professional nature. Areas of concern include: human rights of mathematicians, employment issues and opportunities, professional development, increasing participation at all levels of under-represented groups, recognition and awards, membership and member services, professional ethics and responsibilities, and increased communication and cooperation with other disciplines.
Next meeting: Saturday, September 28 and Sunday, Sepember 29, 2013 at AMS Headquarters, Providence, Rhode Island.
Programs That Make a Difference: In the fall of each year, the Committee on the Profession reviews nominations for these awards.
