This year's winner of the Rhone-Poulenc Prize for Science Books went to PaulHoffman's The Man Who Loved Only Numbers: The Story of Paul Erdos and theSearch for Mathematical Truth. Another book about a mathematician alsoappeared among the six finalists for the prestigious award: A BeautifulMind, by Sylvia Nasar, which is a biography of the mathematician John Nash,winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics.
