The American Mathematical Society is very appreciative when Institutions
of Higher Education offer to host an AMS Sectional Meeting. Sectional
meeting sites are recommended by the associate secretary for that section
and then are approved by the Secretariat. Site recommendations are usually
made two to three years in advance. Host departments supply 12 to 25 rooms
with overhead projectors for contributed paper sessions and Special Sessions,
an auditorium with twin overhead projectors and screens, microphone, and
computer projector (LCD) for Invited Addresses, registration clerks, and
space for registration activities and an AMS book exhibit.. They also
provide local information for the Sectional Program Book. The Society
partially reimburses for the rental of facilities and equipment and for
staffing the registration desk as well as partial reimbursement for coffee
