DescriptionThe study of automorphisms of free groups is a classical subject, with more than 100 years of history. The last 25 years have witnessed the development of many interesting new tools, resulting in the subject's diversification into algorithmic, geometric and dynamical aspects. While these aspects continue to be heavily intertwined, they have meanwhile taken root in several other areas of mathematics.
