Among the recommended gifts are two mathematics-related ones, each illustrated in the article: Klein Bottles and Tensegritoy. Reviewer Jennifer Kahn notes that "since its conception, the idea of the Klein Bottle has held a special fascination for mathematicians, but no one had actually ventured to make one out of glass until 1997." She gives some background on Klein and describes the various products Chris Stoll produces. Reviewer William Jacobs describes the new offering of Design Science Toys---Tensegritoy, sets of materials that can be assembled with detailed instructions for building three basic structures, a tetrahedron, an octahedron, and an icosahedron.
