Two reviews of Linked: The New Science of Networks by Albert-Laslo Barabasi and Nexus: Small Worlds and the Groundbreaking Science of Networks by Mark Buchanan. Reviewed by Sidney Redner, Nature, 11 July 2002, pages 127-8. Reviewed by Ian Foster, Science, 16 August 2002, pages 1124-5.
Redner presents reviews of these two books on networking. More details are given on the first book, which includes stories about Erdos and information about his work in random graph theory. Redner writes that "Both books are extremely valuable contributions to the popular-science literature and I enjoyed them immensely. I would enthusiastically recommend them to my own family members." Both books are also reviewed favorably by Foster.
