In 1994, John Nash received the Nobel Prize in Economics for mathematical work he published in 1950. This book tells the story of Nash's life, his brilliant mathematical work, his complicated personal life, and his long battle with schizophrenia. Although the book has some shortcomings, the reviewer writes, "Nasar has succeeded in writing an admirable book that grips from beginning to end."
