Centennial Fellowship for 2009-2010
Reference Form
Name of Applicant:____________________________________________________
AMS Centennial Fellowships are to be awarded for research in mathematics during the 2009-2010 academic year. They are intended to provide enhanced research opportunities to mathematicians who have held their doctoral degree for at least three and not more than twelve years at the inception of the award (that is, received between September 1, 1997 and September 1, 2006). Preference will be given to candidates who have not had extensive fellowship support in the past.
It will be helpful to have your frank opinion about the applicant's research to date, research in progress, and promise for future research. Comparisons of candidates with other persons in the same field are very useful. Any remarks you may be able to make about her or his ability, originality, and industry will also be helpful. The Society supplements contributions as needed. One fellowship will be awarded for the 2009-2010 academic year.
